FERMANAGH Concert Band will host a unique and free ‘open rehearsal’ event this Saturday between 2pm and 4pm at The Enniskillen Hotel.

The event is an invitation to anyone who would like to experience playing in a band.

Whether you are a relatively new player or someone who played an instrument when younger and would like to take it up again, this is the event for you.

Just come along to the Enniskillen Hotel on Saturday to hear the band rehearse and chat with the players and musical director about getting involved.

Fermanagh Concert Band is an amateur cross-community ensemble of brass, woodwind and percussion players. The band plays all genres of music from popular to classical, from jazz to film music.

They are looking for new members to join the band, especially anyone who plays bass (tuba), alto and tenor saxophone and percussion.

The band also welcomes any other brass and woodwind instruments.

Members practise once a week and play regular concerts throughout the year in Fermanagh and beyond.

Musical Director of the band, David Baxter, said: “This event is a wonderful opportunity for players of any ability, age or background to get involved with an enthusiastic and welcoming group of local musicians. People who join the band enjoy a whole new take on life and music and get to meet a wide variety of people.” If you can’t make the event but are still interested in joining please go to fermanaghconcertband.com and click on ‘join us’ for more information about the band and how to join.
