DEREK ACORAH Derek Acorah needs no introduction. The pioneer for spiritualism and mediumship on television, he is arguably the world’s most renowned Spirit Medium having demonstrated his skills to many hundreds of thousands of people in theatres throughout the UK. Derek’s popularity grew even more with the birth of televised investigative mediumship in the form of the ground-breaking “Most Haunted”. Such was his accuracy and charm that he was dubbed “Mr. Most Haunted” by the programme’s many millions of viewers throughout the world.

Given the very nature of this controversial subject it is of course important to be insightful and accurate as well as to be able to communicate. However to fill theatres across the land requires not just these talents but also the ability to entertain. It requires a sensitive delivery and a warmth so often absent. Derek Acorah has all of this and more.

See the amazing Derek Acorah in person on Saturday at 8pm as part of his Enlightenment Tour. This performance is suitable for 18 years and over.

BATTLES, BRICKS AND BRIDGES Tuesday, November 25, at 8pm sees the film premier of ‘Battles, Bricks and Bridges’.

From October 2013 to September 2014 Development Media Workshop followed the year long story of a unique community project entitled ‘Battles, Bricks and Bridges’ developed by Cleenish and Killesher Community Associations in County Fermanagh. Michael Brown filmed the activities throughout the year and has captured the excitement of local people as they participated in the archaeology of the old village, the school and the Elizabethan battle site, and discovered how to make Arney bricks in the traditional way again, as had been done for generations before them.

Through the listing and subsequent repair of Arney Bridge and the extensive community participation in other events such as story telling and the Henry Glassie evening, this film captures a community as it journeyed through its history, culture and heritage, and stands as a lasting legacy for the future. The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Fermanagh Trust.

JIMMY BUCKLEY IN CONCERT On Thursday, November 27, at 8pm one of Ireland’s top entertainers, Jimmy Buckley is welcomed back to the Ardhowen Theatre. Jimmy’s massive hit song ‘Your Wedding Day’, written by Henry McMahon, conquered the Irish music scene and he continues to make his mark on the concert scene in England.

Singing and music play a huge part in Jimmy’s life and he notes Elvis and Buddy Holly as among his greatest influences. In 2007 Jimmy visited Nashville, Tennessee, taking in the Grand Old Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame but the icing on the cake was the visit to Graceland, the home of Elvis.

Later Jimmy said that the visit was very emotional and inspiring. Jimmy had the honour of performing with George Jones in Nashville and also with Charlie Pride on his Irish Tours.

Jimmy has recently launched his new album ‘The Essential Collection - From Here To The Moon And Back’ on Dolphin Records.
