This weekend is a great celebration of the music of 'The Eagles', when the wonderful Talon bring their Eagles greatest hits tour to the Ardhowen stage. Now recognised as the number one Eagles band in the world, Talon faithfully re-create the authentic sound of this legendary band in two amazing evenings of nostalgic celebration on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November. Who can ever forget that period in popular music history with 'Hotel California', playing on all the radio stations and life looking much simpler than it is today. Those nostalgic memories come back four fold at this amazing concert when these wonderful musicians who play a myriad of guitars and keyboards, mesmerise us with their four and five part harmonies. 'Lyin Eyes', 'One Of Those Nights', 'Witchy Woman', 'Seven Bridges Road', 'Peaceful Easy Feeling', 'Life In The Fast Lane', 'Tequila Sunrise', 'Best Of My Love', ' Desperado' and of course 'Hotel California' are only some of the many great songs in the show. The Saturday night show is already booked out but there are a few seats still available as we go to press for the Friday, but hurry they won't last long.

Country Music Show

Also booking up very quickly is the Jimmy Buckley Country Music show on Thursday 12th November at 8pm. Probably the most popular Country singer in Ireland today, Jimmy will be joined on stage by a great band of musicians and his special guest Matt Leavy. 2008 was a hugely successful and busy year for Jimmy Buckley and his band. He toured extensively in Ireland and England, and cruised the Mediterranean on a star packed show, packed out Cadiz in Spain for a week and had a hugely successful Tennessee border tour, taking in Nashville, Branson and Memphis. The first part of 2008 was also hectic for Jimmy. January saw Jimmy and his band once again headline the prestigious Gertie Byrne Entertainment Cruise. This time it was a star studded trip off the Caribbean, where his audience were mostly American and they were enthralled with his live show. February saw Jimmy return to the studio where he was recording new material for his forthcoming new album, under the watchful eye of his musical producer and indeed drummer in his band, Jonathan Owens. In March he toured Ireland with Charlie Pride, and once again played to packed audiences. One of the most exciting things personally for Jimmy was when he flew to Nashville in May to record a duet with the legendary George Jones. They recorded 'The Grand Tour'. It is an excellent recording and will be one of the tracks on his new album. The legend that is George Jones had nothing but praise for Jimmy and to quote George himself, he was just blown away with his singing talent. In August he appeared live on stage with George and sang 'The Grand Tour'. The dreadful weather conditions could not put the fans off attending the festival and it was a huge success. This was followed in late September with Jimmy headlining a week of 'Music, Dancing, Sun And Craic' at the luxurious 4 star Cervantes Hotel in Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol. After the amazing success of his debut DVD 'Live In Concert', Jimmy recorded his 2nd DVD. This time it was recorded in his home city of Limerick at the University Concert Hall. The night of the recording was completely sold out with fans travelling from all parts of Ireland and indeed England to be part of this excellent show where Jimmy recorded a variety of new and old songs with the backing of 15 of Ireland's top musicians and singers. Not content with the growing success of his new album, Jimmy has released a new single entitled 'Things I Should Have Done' and the early predictions are another No. 1 hit to follow 'Your Wedding Day'. New to Jimmy in 2008 and now 2009 is the success of his theatre shows with a brand new audience to add to his ever increasing popularity on the dancing circuit. Ardhowen Theatre is one of his all time favourite venues.

A Quare Night's Craic

Probably Northern Ireland's most popular funny man, William Caulfield returns to the scene of previous successes on Friday November 13th at 8pm with his own hilarious brand of comedy. Fresh from a hugely successful televised show from the Grand Opera House in Belfast and a successful Mediterranean cruise where he was the most popular performer among many, he is looking forward once again to perform in his own favourite, Ardhowen Theatre. The show is a mixture of hilarious jokes and stories, songs and monologues and introduces, once again, all the old favourite characters but with new updated material and his special guest, singer and slurry spreader Hill Billy Willy. So cheer yourself up from the November blues with a side splitting evening where you'll certainly have a quare night's craic.

Phil Coulter In Concert

On Saturday 14th November, local audiences have the chance to see one of the all time greats live on the Ardhowen stage in a great evening of music. The legendary Phil Coulter has not only weathered just about every change in the business, he has been one of the few songwriters who actually shaped pop history by dictating musical taste and fashions. With his writing partner Bill Martin, Phil has written songs such as 'Congratulations' for Cliff Richard, 'Puppet On A String' for Sandy Shaw and songs for artists such as Elvis, Dana, Richard Harris and the Bay City Rollers. He has also performed with artists such as Tom Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Van Morrison and The Rolling Stones. Phil's music carries the stamp of a master performer, arranger and composer. Ireland's most acclaimed and biggest selling pianist ever. A superb evening is promised.
