This Saturday 30th January at Ardhowen, top TV, radio and recording star, Brendan Shine, presents his own show, 'An Evening With Brendan Shine'. An International ambassador of Irish music, with live performances stretching over four decades, Brendan is one of the most popular singers on the touring circuit today. With an impressive list of well over forty albums and almost as many singles to his credit, he has been one of the busiest artists in Ireland. With hits such as 'Do You Want Your Old Lobby Washed Down', 'Catch Me If You Can', 'Shoe The Donkey' it's sure to be a wonderful night in the company of one of the real gentlemen in the business. Rock Legends
JW Promotions from Ballycastle present Rock Legends, a musical tribute to the biggest icons of Rock Music on Thursday 4th February at 8pm. The evening will cover many of the songs made famous by such legends as ACDC, Thin Lizzy, Guns 'n' Roses, Led Zeppelin and Queen. The talented Mindbenders Band and three great male vocalists will transport you to the era of these icons of rock.
Robert Mizzell in Concert
A special treat for Country Music fans takes place on Friday 5th February, when Robert Mizzell makes his first ever appearance on the Ardhowen Theatre stage. A native of Louisiana, in the deep south of the United States of America, Robert and his band 'The Country Kings' have risen to become one of the foremost and popular acts touring in Ireland today. In the seventeen years that Robert Mizzell has lived in Ireland, he has recorded six albums. As we go to press, the concert is heading for a sell out.
Popular Comedian
The popular funny man William Caulfield, brings his own unique brand of humour to the stage on Saturday 6th February with his 'Our Jimmy' show. This latest version is packed full of new material together with some of his old favourites. All the zany characters are there including Lily O'Condriach, Willie Simpson, Big Sadie, Billy Hulk, Derek and the wee schoolboy and others. A great night of comedy is promised.
Beezneez On Tour
The popular Beezneez Theatre Company, regular performers at Ardhowen Theatre and fresh from their hilarious production 'A Wake In The West' which had Ardhowen audiences rolling in the isles, are back with something a little different. Their production of 'Tuesdays With Morrie' which plays for just one night on Wednesday 10th February is a beautiful piece, based on the multimillion best selling book. This lovely play tells the story of a professor and a student, who meet up again after 16 years, when the student, Mitch, discovers that the tutor whom he loved and respected so much is suffering from a serious illness. They begin to spend Tuesdays together, get together that become important to Mitch as he learns the lessons of life and death. The play, which is described as a warm, funny, compassionate and life enhancing evening of theatre, features the excellent and popular Michael Roper and Pat Feeley in the cast. The production is directed by John McDwyer and is touring to ten theatre venues over the next few weeks. An enjoyable evening in the theatre is promised.
The Fureys And Davey Arthur
Formed in 1975 and probably now the most famous Irish band in the world, The Fureys and Davey Arthur are certainly legends in their own lifetime. With over 50 albums to their credit, they are responsible for some of the most stirring music ever to capture the public imagination and their performance at Ardhowen Theatre on Saturday 13th February will feature all their many hits, including 'When You Were Sweet 16', 'The Green Fields Of France', 'Red Rose Cafe', 'Steal Away', 'Clare To Here', 'Leaving Nancy', 'Maggie' etc. etc.. It's a fabulous evening of great music by a group of amazing musicians and should not be missed. The performance begins at 8pm.
