This Monday night, March 15, some of the finest Country and Western talent in the county are coming together in a bid to raise some much needed cash for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
The fundraising dance will take place in the Fort Lodge Hotel with artists like Sean Corrigan, Francie Smith, Anthony McBrien, The Benn Sisters, Gerry Mac, Shaun Loughrey, Sean McAloon and Cathy McGovern all giving up their time for this worthy cause.
The Haiti Earthquake took almost a quarter of a million lives and has left a trail of devastation behind it. 2 million people have been left homeless and 3 million people are in need of emergency aid. Such destruction and ruin demands the world's help. And as Haiti battles one disaster at the hands of Mother Nature, now it is facing another.
In a few weeks the rainy season will begin. Some 700,000 people are living out in the open in makeshift shelters. The luckier have found old and rusty corrugated iron roofs. Others huddle under bed sheets strung between wooden poles. It has been said that Haiti doesn't need to be rebuilt; it needs to be built from scratch. Monday night will give the people of Fermanagh and surrounding counties a chance to lend a helping hand.
As well as plenty of musical entertainment and dancing there will also be some fantastic prizes to be auctioned. Up for grabs include a range fo prizes including two tickets for Ireland v Scotland RBS Six Nations match at Croke Park on Sat 20th March and two All Ireland Football final tickets with one night's B&B and an evening meal in Buswell's Hotel, Dublin, tickets to see Rod Stewart and a signed Manchester United jersey, a signed Irish Rugby jersey and a signed 1960 Down GAA jersey
There will also be a raffle for £100 cash, one night's B&B in the Westenra Hotel Monaghan, meal vouchers, M& S voucher and a case of wine. All proceeds from the night will go to Concern's Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Doors open at 8pm for dancing at 9pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
