Brenda McCann from Irvinestown and Annette Owens from Tempo, will be performing on Saturday, November 23 in Mahon’s Hotel, Irvinestown, at the launch of their new CD, ‘Fly By Night’. They will be joined on the night by well known musician, Brian McGrath, who also provides the piano accompaniment on the CD.

Although this is Brenda and Annette’s first CD together, they have been performing together for many years. They competed in duet competitions from a young age and played together in the Sean Nugent Ceili Band winning, an All Ireland title in the U18 Ceili Band competition. More recently they played together, accompanied by Brian Mc Grath, on ‘The High Hills of Largy’, a CD featuring the compositions of the late Sean Nugent. They also played together on ‘Geantrai’, TG4’s Traditional Music programme and have recorded for RTE’s ‘The Fleadh Programme’ which will air later in the year. Alongside Brian they feature on Hidden Fermanagh, a CD of Fermanagh music from the historic Gunn manuscript.

A combination of well known traditional tunes and more recently composed material, the CD has 15 tracks. A host of musicians from throughout Ireland will join Brenda, Annette and Brian on the night.
