BRIAN MAGUIRE

MAGUIRE Brian 16/02/1948 - 05/02/2018 Brian's wife Bernie, sons Liam, Ruairi; daughters Orla, Noreen, Aine; sisters Rita Mc Nulty, Nora Donohoe; brother Paddy; in-laws, grandchildren and wider family circle thank all those who visited Brian in his home, prayed for him and entertained him over the past years; he truly enjoyed the company and the craic. We also thank especially all who sympathised with us on his death, all who called at the house, attended the removal and the Funeral; those who sent or brought Mass cards, sympathy cards, food and donations in lieu of flowers. Thank you to those who helped in the home over those busy days; to the neighbours who controlled the traffic along a very busy road and the members of Teemore GAA Club who arranged the transport to the home. A special thank you to the Medical Team who cared for him so well particularly since Christmas when his condition deteriorated so rapidly; Drs John and Aisling Kirby, their Nurses and Administrative Staff, Peadar the pharmacist, the Palliative Care Team, Dr. Mc Brien and Dr. Cunningham made a wonderful team and were so generous with the time and assistance they gave him. Brian was also blessed and supported over the years by so many Priests and he loved their visits, not only in a spiritual way but also for the lighthearted banter. We wish to acknowledge all those who attended the removal of his remains to St. Mary's Church and his Funeral Mass. Brian would have been shocked but very appreciative of the large numbers who paid tribute to him. We thank the Priests who attended and concelebrated his Funeral Mass especially his long term friend Fr. Fintan, Fr. Ultan and Fr. Gerry Alwill our current P.P. who visited Brian regularly as a friend and with spiritual assistance. Thank you, Father, for your moving, meaningful homily which touched us all. The Funeral Mass was greatly enhanced by the Readers and all who participated but most especially by the Church Choir, the Organist and the Soloist, all of whom combined to hearten us with his favourite hymns. Paddy, the Sacristan and the Altar Servers ensured everything was in order; Thank you. The dignified guard of honour by the Members of Teemore Shamrocks was greatly appreciated as was the presence of Staff and Pupils from the local schools. Raymond Gallagher and his staff in Blake's Restaurant provided us with first class fare both to the home and at the post Funeral Dinner. Thank you, Raymond. The Funeral arrangements were by Mc Nulty Funeral Directors and Peter Carty; thank you, Tom and Peter, for your sensitive, dignified and professional handling of all the arrangements which were meticulous. We hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our heartfelt thanks and appreciation. Mass will be offered for all your intentions. Brian's Months Memory Mass will be offered in St. Mary's Church Teemore on Saturday 10th March at 12.00 noon.
