Mary Kate Curran

CURRAN Mary Kate Knockmacmanus, Brookeborough. Died 28/02/2019. The daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family of the late Mary Kate Curran, wish to thank all who sympathised with us on the occasion of her death after 96 years well lived. To all who phoned, called at, brought gifts, Mass and sympathy cards to her home, to those who travelled long distances to offer condolences, to all who served refreshments over the period of her very busy wake, and to those who helped carry her coffin on an inclement morning, we express our gratitude. To Felix McCaffrey and Ollie Swift, undertakers, we offer a particular word of thanks for their ceaseless help, and also to Paul Mohan. To Gleeson Roofing and Caolan McBrien for providing the lane lighting, and to the young men who stewarded traffic over the two evenings, we also say thanks. To Canon Lawrence Dawson and Fr Brendan Gallagher who were great friends of and constant visitors to Granny both at home and in hospital, and to Fr Murray who attended on Thursday, we offer our sincere appreciation. Fr Brendan's well-crafted homily at her funeral Mass will be long remembered by all who attended. We wish to thank the numerous paramedics who attended her, the doctors and nurses in SWAH during all her confinements there, the doctors and staff of Brookeborough and Tempo Medical Centres, and the staff of Brenda Carson's chemist. We offer our thanks to friends and neighbours who kept vigil with Granny's remains, to the grave diggers, altar servers, gift bearers, readers, Eucharistic ministers and organist Karen McElroy. We also appreciate Heber McMahon's GAA club members who controlled traffic on the day of her funeral, the club for the use of their premises for the refreshments afterwards and the volunteers who prepared and served same. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Month's Memory Mass, St. Mary's Church Brookeborough, Saturday 30/03/2019, 19.00.
