ALICE MURPHY

MURPHY (née McGinnity) Alice (Allie) Aughakillymaude, Derrylin As we took our beloved Mum from her home for the last time on Sunday morning October 27th, it marked 66 years to the very day from she had married Dad, Owen Murphy. She had immediately become an integral part of a vibrant community and this wonderful community supported her, and us, right until she passed away. Thank you sincerely to her kind neighbours and friends for a lifetime of memories. Mum was blessed with a great team of devoted carers from Lakeland Community Care and Western Trust Homecare who, together with great medical care from Dr Meade and staff at Lakeside Medical Practice, a very dedicated District Nursing Team and Peadar McGovern Pharmacist and staff, enabled us to care for Mum in her own home right to the end of her life. Our thanks also to Anita and Trudie, Mum's Social Workers, for your guidance over the past few years. In her last few weeks we were also greatly supported by The Rapid Response Team and Marie Curie Care Nurses. Thank you to you all. Following her death we were greatly comforted by the huge number of friends and neighbours who came to share stories and pay tribute to Mum. It was lovely to hear about the special place she held in your hearts. We are very grateful to all who sent cards, telephoned, brought gifts of food, or helped in any way either inside or outside the house during the wake. Mum's faith was at the very centre of her life and our sincere thanks to Fr Gerard Alwill. Fr Dinny Murray and Fr Fintan McKiernan for your comforting spiritual visits. Fr Gerard captured Mum's essence perfectly in the beautiful and very fitting Requiem Mass, assisted by Fr Gabriel Kelly and Fr Maurice McMorrow. Thank you so much. Our sincere thanks to Siobhan Brennan, organist, the Derrylin Church Choir and the Teemore Church Choir, you enriched Mum's Funeral Mass so much with a very appropriate selection of hymns that she had sung so often with you. Thank you also to the Altar Servers. Thank you so much to the Staff and Pupils of St. Aidan's High School, who provided a Guard of Honour. To everyone who honoured Mum by your presence in her home or at her Funeral Mass, we offer our heartfelt thanks. Pat and Mark Blake guided us very efficiently in the arrangements for the funeral, thank you so much for that and for making your office available over the weekend for printing the Mass Booklet. Thank you also to those who helped with directing traffic and with carparking duties. Mum was laid to rest beside Dad on their 66th Wedding Anniversary, in a beautifully prepared resting place; our thanks to Eoin and Enda for all your hard work. Thank you also to those who made donations in lieu of flowers to The Friends of Clachan Court. Finally, our sincere thanks to Brian McManus and your great team at Derrylin Parish Centre for the very welcome soup and sandwiches after the funeral. It afforded us an opportunity to chat with friends who had travelled from near and far to join us. In whatever way you touched Mum's life or helped us during her illness or following her death, we offer our heartfelt thanks. The Holy Sacrifice of The Mass will be offered for your intentions. From the Murphy family: Mary (Byrne), John, Francis, Eileen (McGovern), Eugene, Anne (Morgan), Martin, Pauline (Corrigan) and our families. Mum's Month's Memory Mass will take place on Saturday, November 30th @ 11am in St. NInnidh's Church, Derrylin.
