MICHAEL MOONEY

MOONEY Michael 16th January 2020 We the family of Michael Mooney, husband to Helen (nee McPhillips), dad to Anne and Louise and grandad to Michael. Brother of John (RIP) and Mary, brother in law to Seamus (Mary), Brendan (Kate), Kevin (Marion), Geraldine (Brian) Allen, Patrick (RIP), Kathleen (Jim) McCarney RIP, John RIP (Kay), nieces and nephews and the wider family circle, would all like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who sympathised with us on our recent bereavement. We wish to extend our thanks to our extended family, our neighbours in Burrendale and the local area and our friends who all stepped in to provide emotional and practical support, who brought refreshments, who swapped stories and brought laughter and who travelled long distances to attend the wake and funeral ceremony. Thanks to all who sent Mass Cards, sympathy cards, letters and telephoned to offer their condolences. The support extended to the family continues to make a big impact and helped us all through a difficult time. For the high level of care and personal attention Michael received from the consultants, nurses and support staff at the SWAH as well as the ambulance crews and doctors and the support staff at the Lakeside Medical Practice, we are forever grateful. A special thanks must go the team of Pulmonary Nurses and Physios who attended to Michael in his home. Everyone who tended to him did so with dignity, care and good humour and made sure he was well looked after: no one likes being in hospital, but you all made it that bit easier. You are particularly in our prayers at this difficult and unprecedented time. Michael was grounded in his faith: thanks for the support, prayers and friendship of Mgr Peter O'Reilly, Fr Raymond, Fr Joe and former clergy Mgr Sean Cahill, Canon Noel, Fr Cathal and Fr Jim. Thanks also to the extended church family, especially the Baptism group, where Michael was an active participant and member of this vibrant community. He truly valued your friendship, visits and spiritual support over the years especially when he was unable to get out. More recently, he enjoyed being able to participate in the Mass via the webcam; thanks to those who maintain that facility for those who are unable to attend in person. Thanks to all who attended Michael's funeral and those who took part in the liturgy of the Mass especially the nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Fr. Joe McVeigh who officiated and said such lovely words and Michael's oldest friend Mgr Michael Cassidy who concelebrated Mass and said the prayers at the graveside. Also to Brenda Swift and Conor and Sean Magee who provided the wonderful music. Sincere thanks to Oliver Swift and Swift & McCaffrey Funeral Directors for the professional and dignified way you carried out the Funeral arrangements and the incredible support you gave to the immediate family. It made an extremely hard time that bit easier to have you thinking ahead and steering us through everything that needed to be done. To the members of the Enniskillen Macular Society thanks for your friendship and support to Michael. He loved his role as Treasurer and enjoyed the many trips that you took together. Thanks to all who donated to the Macular Society instead of sending flowers, per the family's wishes. A special thank you to Catherine DeLacy who gave great support to Michael. Thanks also to all at the Killyhevlin and Café Merlot, two of his favourite places he enjoyed getting out for a family meal so much and the staff went out of their way to always give him a big welcome. It is impossible for us to name everyone individually who has supported and helped the family at this time, so please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt appreciation, Mass will be celebrated for all your intentions. Michael is sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. A belated Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 4th April at 6pm in St Michael's Enniskillen. Due to the current circumstances, the Mass will be celebrated behind closed doors but will be available to watch on the webcam please join us in spirit.
