CARMEL KEENAN

KEENAN Carmel Cherryhill Irvinestown 8th March 2020 Carmel's husband Pat, Son Brendan, daughter SiobhGrandson Daithand son-inlaw Darren wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all who have shown them so much love and support in their recent sad bereavement. To all those who provided care and comfort to Carmel throughout her long illness which she bore with such courage and dignity, we cannot thank you enough. To the staff at Omagh Cancer Care Centre, Ederney Surgery, Hospice Nurses, District Nurses, Home Carers, Pillbox pharmacy, the Palliative Care team and the staff of Ward 3 SWAH, your professionalism was matched with kindness and was much appreciated. Thanks to Carmel's siblings Rose, Mary and Patsy and the extended Cassidy family along with the Keenan and Loughran families and the many good friends and neighbours who provided constant support throughout her illness, especially in her final days. Carmel received spiritual comfort during her illness from the priests of the parish, Canon M. McGourty and latterly from Fr. K. Duffy, who celebrated her life in a Requiem Mass which gave consolation to her family and friends. We gained strength from his support and offer our thanks to him and to all who participated in the Mass, the Altar Servers, the Readers, the Eucharistic Ministers and to Michael Cassidy and Helen Maye who provided beautiful and uplifting music during the service. Our sincere thanks to all who attended the funeral, many of whom travelled considerable distances to offer their sympathy and support. We continue to gain consolation from the many Mass and sympathy cards, messages of condolence and telephone calls which we are still receiving from friends, work colleagues and the wider community. The family deeply appreciate the professional and compassionate manner in which Claude McKervey, Undertaker, carried out the funeral arrangements and thank him for his support, advice and guidance throughout those difficult days. Sincere thanks to the Gravediggers who prepared Carmel's final resting place so respectfully. The family is indebted to the staff at Bawnacre Centre and the members of the Parish committee who provided refreshments after the funeral and gave the family the opportunity to meet with the many people who came to offer their support and sympathy. It would not be possible to thank everyone individually but we trust that this will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation for all the kindness we have been shown. In view of the constraints of the Covid 19 virus, Carmel's Months Memory Mass will be live streamed on 8th April at 10 a.m. on the Devenish Parish website (https://www.devenishparishirvinestown.com) The family will organise a Mass at the Sacred Heart Church when current restrictions are lifted.
