GIBBONS Sr Catherine 21st October 2021 The Sisters of Mercy and the family of the late Sr Catherine Gibbons would like to offer heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised with them on her recent death, all those relatives, friends and neighbours who called to her home and brought flowers and food, all who sent Mass and sympathy cards, letters, phone calls, text messages and on-line condolences. We are grateful to those who paid their respects at her home on the morning of her funeral and as her funeral cortege made its way through Ballyshannon and Ballintra, and especially to members of the Faith and Light Community and pupils and colleagues from Scoil Chaitrwho formed Guards of Honour. We are particularly thankful to the Surgical Team and Staff and Palliative Care Team on Ward 3 at South West Acute Hospital for the excellent professional and sensitive care Catherine received during her illness: to the Doctors and Staff at Lakeside Medical Practice; the staff in the Treatment Room in Erne Health Centre, the Community Nursing and Audiology Teams and Corrys Pharmacy, all of whom looked after Catherine with great care and attention. We are thankful, too, for the pastoral care Catherine received in hospital from Sr Rosa, Fr Joe McVeigh and Fr Anthony O'Leary C.P. We offer sincere thanks to Fr O'FearraP.P. Ballyshannon who celebrated Catherine's funeral liturgy and whose homily was a fitting tribute to her. Our thanks also to the concelebrants Frs Gavigan and Burke and to Fr. O Fearraand Fr Gavigan for officiating at the graveside. Sr Marie Cox's musical gifts added to the beauty and solemnity of the Funeral Mass. The professionalism and support of Jackie Carron, Funeral Undertaker, and the care taken by those who prepared the grave were much appreciated. Thanks to the Murvagh Golf Club for the welcome refreshments provided in the parish hall in Ballintra. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation to all. Sr Catherine's Month's Memory Mass will be celebrated at 12noon on Sunday 28th November in St Michael's Church, Enniskillen and can be viewed on parish webcam. Rest in peace
