THE melodic voices of young Florencecourt girls, Amy and Elise Henderson feature on a new mini album collated by their father, Wesley.

'Songs of Reflection' includes two tracks penned by Wesley and his two daughters, as well as their own version of the hymn, 'Amazing Grace'.

The two girls, collectively known as 'Youthful Voice' have a busy Christmas ahead, performing at a number of carol services across the county as well as a number of wedding ceremonies, thanks to the success of the mini-album already.

And part of the proceeds from each CD sale will go towards Cancer Research at Queen's University, Belfast.

The young girls' singing venture began after Wesley penned a song in memory of his mother who passed away from a terminal illness.

'Words From An Angel' was an instant hit on Facebook after it was completed at the end of August.

Wesley explains: "The lyrics are reflective of my late mother (the girls' grandmother) who visits Elise in a dream to explain to her that all is now alright in heaven and to pass this message on to me.

"More importantly it had an immense effect upon those who were going through bereavement. We decided to have that song recorded. We did this through a professional recording studio in Belfast.

"The second song, 'Through the Eyes of a Child' is reflective of a child's view of Christmas with the birth of Christ and also giving a strong message to all in reaching out to others in need, especially children.

"The third song 'Amazing Grace', was selected as a meaningful hymn to which we applied our own arrangement and harmonies to embellish the beautiful words. We sang this at a Harvest Service at St John's Church, Florencecourt."

All three songs were also performed at a recent concert in Bellanaleck Cleenish Parish Hall.

"My wife, Sonia, and I decided that we wanted to give something towards Cancer Research at a local level so we chose the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology at Queen's University, Belfast where a portion of the CD sales proceeds will go, hopefully, to identify cures for this horrible illness which unfortunately has taken so many good people, including my own two parents," says Wesley.

'Songs of Reflection' is available in the Evangelical Book Shop, Enniskillen (Real Life), the NFU Mutual Ulster Farmers Union Insurance Office, Tempo Road, Enniskillen, Ballinamallard Spar Shop,Letterbreen Filling Station and Faith Mission Bookshop, Market Street in Omagh.
