WARD Dr. Patrick 1st September 2022 It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick (Paddy) Ward announces his passing on September 1st 2022, at the age of 76. Jennifer and family would like to extend thanks to all who were involved in Paddy's care and support. These include his G.P. Dr. Crowley, the Staff at the South West Acute Hospital, Fr. Cathal Deery and Fr. Brian D'Arcy, Leanne McGovern Funeral Director and neighbours, especially Tom McGowan. ________ The Month's Memory Mass will be held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Monea on 2nd October, 2022 at 10am. ________ Paddy passed away peacefully at Enniskillen hospital after a brief period of illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Jennifer, his four brothers Brian, Peter, Eugene and Frank, brother-in-law Jeff and his many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Sadly, his much-loved younger sister Margaret passed away in 2021. Paddy was born in England and taught English before moving to Enniskillen in 1990 when he was appointed Advisor for the Teaching of English to the Western Education and Library Board. He received his doctorate from University College Dublin and published his book Exile, Emigration and Irish Writing in 2002. He was a keen squash and badminton player, enjoyed most sports and the arts and was an avid Beatles fan.
