Mickey Doonan
DOONAN Mickey The Borough, Teemore 12th September 2022 The family of the late Mickey Doonan (RIP), partner Philomena, Lucinda & Brian, brothers John and PJ, sisters Kathleen and Sheila wish to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the many people who helped and supported them in their recent tragic bereavement. We are truly grateful to the professionals who helped at the scene, the Emergency Services, Ashley (PSNI), neighbours, family and friends, for their comfort, dignity, respect and understanding during this difficult time; it was greatly appreciated. We offer our heartfelt thanks to all who brought and prepared food, organised parking arrangements, provided transport, lighting and to all who visited Mickey's home, sent Mass or sympathy cards, floral tributes, gifts, and messages of condolences. Thanks to all Mickey's AA friends who travelled long journeys to say their goodbyes, the large numbers who lined the Mountain Road on Mickey's final journey to the Church, who attended the Funeral, Teemore Shamrocks & Kinawley Brian Boru's guard of honour as well as Mickey's friends from the social dancing and The Mountain Road Pipe Band. Mickey would have been very proud. A special word of thanks to Fr. Alwill who attended Mickey at the scene of the accident, for his support and comfort during this difficult time and celebrating Mickey's life with a very meaningful and fitting Funeral Mass. Also to Fr. Greene, Fr. McMorrow and Fr. Comiskey in concelebrating Mickey's Funeral Mass. A special word of thanks to Eimear and Fiona who provided the singing and music, to Gerry McManus for piping Mickey to his final resting place and Paddy McAvinue for his assistance in the Church. We would like to thank Pat, Mark and Maureen in Patrick Blake Funeral Directors who carried out Mickey's funeral arrangements in a very fitting and dignified manner and also the Gravediggers who prepared Mickey's final resting place. Thanks to the family members who organised and provided the refreshments after the Funeral Mass. This was very much appreciated. A special word of thanks to the two men (you know who you are) who have been a wonderful support to me since the passing of Mickey. The contribution's by all has made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation. "I wish that we would have had more time, that God had let you stay, Forever would not be long enough, but I would take one more day, I wish I had just one more chance, to see your tender smile, To laugh with you again my dear, for just a little while. Gone too soon but not forgotten, forever you will remain, My guiding light, my shining star, until I see your face again." Philomena xxx ________ Mickey's Month's Memory Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 9th October 2022 at 9.45am in St. Mary's Church, Teemore.
