Model Aimee Boyle from Newtownbutler is all set to give The Hills Above Derrygonnelly Fundraising Cycle its starting orders.

This venture, hosted by Bunnahone Bunnies Cross Community Playgroup, will get off to a flying start on Sunday, September 17, 2017.

“This event comprises of two different routes with beautiful scenery and varying degrees of challenging climbs and descents,” explained a representative for the upcoming fundraiser, which is strictly for cyclists over 18.

She pointed out their 43k route has an entry fee of £10 and is suitable for the beginner to intermediate cyclist. “This route is comprised of an enjoyable scenic route with some rolling hills to get the adrenaline flowing,” she said.

The representative pointed out their 80k route has an entry fee of £15 and is suitable for only experienced cyclists “due to the mountainous climbs and speedy descents. This route encompasses a large portion of the renowned Fermanagh Fear Endurance Event and is sure to provide ample challenge for even the most competitive cyclists.”

Both routes are fully signed and marshalled with additional motorbike marshal support together with food and water stops, first aid and mechanical breakdown support.

The race headquarters will be at Tir Navar Holiday Village and the sign on times are from 9am to 9.45am with the roll out for the 80k at 10am. This will be closely followed by the 43k roll out at 10.15am.
