All the hard work put in by schoolboy Christopher Corbett from Clabby has paid off. Due to celebrate his 10th birthday this Saturday, he has enjoyed a number of successes at shows, competing with his dog Heather.

Recent achievements have been a first place at the Northern Ireland Countrysports Fair at Scarvagh House, Scarva, a second place at Shane’s Castle and a second place in Co. Offaly. These successes were all for scurry competitions.

He also accomplished a fourth place in a working gundog competition at Birr Castle.

And by all accounts, Christopher was the youngest competitor by many years.

He recently returned to Tempo Primary School after the summer holidays.

Recent honours presented to him included him receiving his BASC Membership at Scarva at the end of May from BASC representatives, and he also got his Countryside Alliance membership at Birr Castle.
