Enniskillen Royal Grammar School pupil, Mark Crawford was recently announced as The Rotary Club of Enniskillen’s winner of its Youth Leadership Development Competition.

The 17-year-old from Enniskillen will now go forward to represent Fermanagh in the regional finals of the competition in Dungannon later this month, November.

Eight Rotary Clubs will each have an entrant in this final; three of them will go to Strasbourg next year as part of a group of 24 from all over Ireland.

A representative for the Youth Leadership Development Competition explained this competition is one of their longest running youth projects and “it rewards young people with clear leadership potential based on their extra-curricular activities.”

He outlined that winners will visit Belfast and meet with local politicians and business leaders; then they travel to Dublin for further meetings with leaders and then the highlight of the trip will be to debate a variety of motions in the European Parliament in Strasbourg at Euroscola.

The Youth Leadership Development Competition is run by Rotary Ireland.
