FIREFIGHTERS have rescued an 84 year old man from shallow water in a culvert at the rear of a house outside Enniskillen.
The incident on the Mullaghmeen Road occurred after 1pm today (Thursday) and was attended by two appliances from Enniskillen one from Irvinestown.
In a statement, a spokeswoman for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters resuscitated the man and provided first aid until the arrival of paramedics.”
A spokeswoman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “One accident and emergency crew and a paramedic officer were dispatched.”
“Following assessment and treatment at the scene by paramedics, one patient was transported to the South West Acute Hospital,” she said.
