STAFF and pupils at Lisbellaw Primary School were delighted to welcome Irish 400m hurdler Christine McMahon to officially launch the start of their Health Week.
Christine always had a love for sport growing up, but it was when she was selected for the cross-country team in P6 that she developed a passion for athletics.
She has already competed for Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games and for Ireland at the European Championships.
Christine involved the children in a series of short circuits ranging from star jumps to the spotty dog.
They thoroughly enjoyed their morning of activity, which concluded with an inspirational talk, including demonstrations, to the whole school.
The children also had the opportunity to ask Christine some questions regarding a career in athletics.
