A CLASSIC Weekend, described as “a get together for classic car and vintage enthusiasts” rolls into action at Castle Archdale Caravan Park on Saturday and Sunday.

“Take a step back in time with our Classic Cars, Caravans and Motorhomes Weekend,” urges Siobhan McMenamin, organiser, who is busy putting the finishing touches to arrangements for the special event.

She said that classic caravans were becoming “increasingly popular”, with old tourers being purchased to renovate.

In addition, she refers to those restoring one passed down by parents or for those looking for a “holiday with a difference”.

The upcoming event is certainly not just about classic caravans.

Siobhan also encourages local people and visitors who have vintage cars and classic vehicles to come along to Castle Archdale and showcase them over the course of the two days.

“Saturday might suit some people and Sunday might suit other people,” feels Siobhan, who is keen to have a variety of vehicles from yesteryear on show; they will be parked in a spacious area at Castle Archdale Caravan Park.

However, Siobhan said you don’t have to own a classic to enjoy the weekend.

In fact, she points out: “If you own a modern caravan, car, motorhome or none of those, we would love you to come along and join us for a weekend of nostalgia.”

The event will run from noon to 6pm each day.

“Get together with other folk and discuss your shared passion over a cuppa,” Siobhan suggested.
