If the success of this year’s Lady of the Lake Festival proves anything it is this: the community spirit in Irvinestown has never been stronger, 40 years on.
The biggest cross community event in the county was enjoyed by thousands this year, accumulating in the annual truck convoy for Marie Curie which featured 347 lorries.
The major annual event, which according to one of the organisers, Joe Mahon, has been “the best ever” sparked much excitement with weird and wonderful events, such as the annual hole digging contest, fire dancing, huskie dog parade and more. It was 10 days of fun-filled activities enjoyed by all ages and as well as the glorious weather, the event brought much sunshine to very many people.
