Over the weekend of October 12 to 14, Derrygonnelly was abuzz with people and music as the village enjoyed the 33rd Eddie Duffy and Mick Hoy Memorial Traditional Music Festival. Visiting musicians travelled from far and wide to take part in the festival which was hosted across the three village pubs, Doogie’s Bar, Cosy Bar and Old Pal’s Bar. Each day seen various traditional musicians play a range of instruments from the bodhran drum to the accordion in the afternoon pub sessions. A highlight of the weekend was the headlining performance from the talented The Tumbling Paddies on the Saturday night. The local five-piece band drew big crowds to Doogie’s Bar with their upbeat stage presence and popular songs.

Once again it was a great weekend of live music from some the country’s best traditional musicians, all in honour of the legendary Eddie Duffy and Mick Hoy.
