The latest update in the ongoing case of a criminal gang which has been charged with the robbery of an ATM at Trory Filling Station was heard at Fermanagh Magistrates Court on Monday, November 12.

Over £61,000 was taken from the ATM at the filling station on the Irvinestown Road on Thursday, August 2. The six were arrested by PSNI in Crossgar, Co. Down.

Milan-Adrian Beidac, Anita Petrovici, Dumitra Constatin, Leonardo Petrovici and Radu Iancu all of Rannoche Close, Crossgar, Co. Down have been charged with burglary and possessing criminal property. Statache Aluas also of Rannoche Close, is charged with possessing criminal property.

Constantin, Iancu and Leonardo Petrovici appeared via videolink from Maghaberry Prison while the other three, who are currently on bail, had been excused.

A representative from the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) updated the court that statements had been submitted to the gatekeeper for onward submission to the PPS and it was anticipated these would be received within the next week or two.

They continued that there were also a number of forensic reports outstanding on mobile phone reports, sat nav and Garmin downloads and also forensics on tools which were found in the house.

The PPS representative expected that all information would not be available until the new year and requested an adjournment of four weeks for an update in relation to the reports and to allow some of the statements to be shared.

A solicitor representing Iancu, told the court he hoped that the forensics would be dealt with as quickly as possible.

He said his client was not guilty of any charge and had been in prison for three months and had been refused bail last week. He continued that he hoped for a better update next time.

District Judge Ranahan said he hoped the matter could be expedited as soon as possible and have the statements shared quickly. He added that he appreciated that a lot of work was needed to be done but he expected substantial progress to be made by the next review.

The case is due to be heard again on December 10 where all three will again appear via videolink.
