Charlie's Bar came alive on Sunday night (December 30) as a diverse line-up of local musicians took to the stage for a charity gig in support of the rehabilitation of Patrick Leonard who sustained severe burns to 65 per cent of his body.

The well-attended gig was hosted and headlined by Belfast-based Fermanagh band Anto and the Echoes, who were supported on the night by a selection of their talented musical friends. Shauna McMorrow opened the night with an acoustic performance, playing a range of contemporary and folk songs.

Prior to their headline slot, a number of the multi-talented Anto and the Echoes band members performed as part of other acts on the night. The band’s keyboardist Seymour Major was joined by his brother John Major as they played a set of acoustic tunes under the name of Major Bros.

They were followed by Doctor Doctor, featuring Eoin Parkinson on electric guitar and Anto and the Echoes’ guitarist Luke Burns, who sang and played acoustic guitar. Together they performed their own take on covers, including a mash-up of ‘Smooth’ by Santana and ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ by Britney Spears.

With their ethereal vocal harmonies, musical duo Taobh Eile had the audience entranced as they performed their rendition of well-known songs from band's such as Mumford and Sons and The Beatles.

Acoustic musician Conor Phillips was accompanied by a number of Anto and the Echoes band members for his set, adding an extra depth of sound as he performed his own original songs and covers. He finished with a powerful rendition of Paolo Nutini’s ‘Iron Sky.’

Headlining the night, Anto and the Echoes did not disappoint with their mix of upbeat original songs and well-loved covers. A true showman, lead vocalist Anthony Breen worked the crowd with his theatrical performance, encouraging even the most reserved souls to join him on the dance floor.

The band concluded their set and closed the night with their latest song ‘Hollywood Baby.’ With its catchy lyrics and vibrant sound, it wasn't long before the whole crowd were singing along.

It was a fantastic end to a great night of live music, all in aid of a very worthy cause.
