Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following an arson attack at a house in the Sedan Terrace area of Enniskillen on Wednesday, January 2.

At approximately 6.24pm the incident at the house was reported to police. There was no one in the property at the time.

Detective Constable Caroline Crawford said: “I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in and around this area or anyone who has information that could assist with police enquiries, to contact detectives at Omagh on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 983 02/01/19.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100 per cent anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said three appliances from Enniskillen and Irvinestown attended the fire.

The fire began on the ground floor of the three storey terraced house and spread to the living room, hallway and basement kitchen.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire at around 7.30pm.

The NIFRS spokesperson also said the cause of the fire appeared to be deliberate.
