Four Fermanagh teenagers remain in hospital after sustaining injuries in a road traffic collision outside Irvinestown on Saturday afternoon.

Two cars, a Ford Fiesta and a Citroen Picasso, were involved in the collision on the Tummery Road near Dromore shortly before 1pm.

A major rescue operation was mobilised in the aftermath of the crash with the fire and ambulance services tasked to the scene.

The injured were brought to hospital by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

In a statement issued to The Impartial Reporter, PSNI Constable Holmes said:

“In total, six people received treatment for their injuries and one male aged in his late teens is in a serious condition, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage available to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 473 12/1/19,” said Constable Holmes.
