Heavy snowfall overnight has caused the closure of several schools in the area and with a heavy frost forecasted tonight parents will be preparing themselves for the possibility of more closures tomorrow (Thursday).
Parents who contacted the Impartial Reporter were left frustrated by closures this morning. This paper contacted the Department of Education to get an update on possible closures tomorrow and was told that any decision to close a school is left to the school itself.
Last year as Storm Ophelia approached the Department did issue “advice” to all schools to close but that is not expected with current weather conditions.
Between the Department’s own list of closures and from what our readers have been telling us the following school are closed today:
St John the Baptist Primary School Belleek
St Mary's High School Belleek
Tattygar Primary School
St Mary’s Mullymesker Arney
Tempo Primary School
St. John the Baptist PS Roscor
St Mary’s Tempo
Belleek Primary School
St Martin’s Garrison
Florencecourt Primary School
St Patrick’s Mullanaskea
