Enniskillen Royal Boat Club held a highly successful Not so Strictly dancing fundraising event at the Killyhevlin Hotel on Friday night, raising over £15,000 for equipment for the young rowers from the progressive, high achieving cross community club.

After a fantastic night of dancing Jayne Daley and Dr. Michael Murphy were crowned the Strictly 2019 champions and were presented with the wonderful Glitterball trophy.

They edged out Sarah Saunderson and John Slowey and Tracey Kernaghan and Gary O’Donnell in a three way final after ten couples had competed on the night in front of some 450 friends and family.

Gaye Conway, secretary of the Boat Club’s Parents Support Group commented: “It was a great night and I can only thank all who supported us in any way. Well done to all the dancers who gave a great commitment to training and put on a fantastic show on the night.

“Thanks also to Aravon McCann for training the dancers and our judges Tom Noble, Angela Rix, Gerry Murphy and Aravon herself,” she said.

“The money raised is significant and will be spent on equipment for the rowers which will allow them to continue to represent the club with distinction at all levels and ages.” Gaye told The Impartial Reporter.
