Joseph Dolan, who is charged with the murder of Pauline Kilkenny in November 2018, appeared at Fermanagh Magistrates Court this week for a preliminary enquiry.
Mrs Kilkenny's body was found at a house on the Cornacully Road between Belcoo and Garrison.
The court heard from the prosecution that the defendant had a case to answer with District Judge Michael Ranaghan concurring with this assessment.
Dolan, with an address of no fixed abode, appeared in the dock wearing a grey adidas tracksuit top and kept his head lowered through much of the proceedings. He spoke to say that he understood the charges before him and when asked if he wanted to give evidence or call witnesses, he said “not at this time”.
Dolan is also charged with the theft of a Fiat Panda belonging to Pauline Kilkenny and also with attempting to pervert the course of public justice by falsely implicating another person in the murder of Pauline Kilkenny.
The case will return before Dungannon court on May 7.
