Between being a sex symbol and part of the one of the UK's most popular TV dramas life is pretty hectic for Fermanagh's Adrian Dunbar.

He returns to our screens as Superintendent Ted Hastings in the fifth series of Line of Duty on Sunday night with the opening episode airing at 9:00pm on BBC One.

This week a Q&A event was held with Jed Mercurio, the creator of the show, who was asked about actor Dunbar's newfound 'sex symbol' status. "I think he always felt that was his destiny," joked Mercurio.

Dunbar will also be a guest on the Jonathan Ross show on Saturday night, 9:45, where he will share the sofa with fellow Line of Duty star Vicky McClure and among others, Westlife.

Talking about the new series of Line of Duty earlier this week, the actor hinted that his character will come under suspicion in the hunt for the mysterious corrupt police officer H.

He told ITV’s Lorraine: “It’s not looking good for Ted, it has to be said, it’s not looking good.

“He does come under scrutiny in the new series.”

A recent trailer for the programme showed H, the corrupt senior officer who was thought to be dead at the end of series four, is still in the picture.

The last episode, which aired in 2017, concluded with Hastings saying he was satisfied that Assistant Chief Constable Hilton was the one colluding with the late Dot Cottan, but it appears H may still be at large.

Dunbar said he learns what will happen with the show very slowly as he receives the scripts, penned by writer Mercurio, “in a drip, drip way”.
