Members from Friends of the Cancer Centre's Fermanagh Fundraising Group put their best foot forward as they prepared for their now annual sponsored walk through Castle Archdale on Monday, 22nd April 2019.

The group are calling on people from the local area to join them on the 5km walk through the picturesque Castle Archdale to raise funds to support Friends of the Cancer Centre's vital work with local people affected by cancer. The walk will set off at 11am and everyone taking part is encouraged to bring a picnic along to enjoy at the end of the walk.

Jennifer Young from the group, said:

"This is the second walk the group has organised and we are asking local people to pull on their walking shoes and join us on the day. Whilst we cannot guarantee good weather, we can guarantee that you will have lots of fun. Everyone who signs up and every step they take will make an incredible difference to the lives of thousands of local people affected by cancer through the work of Friends of the Cancer Centre."

For over 30 years, Friends of the Cancer Centre has been dedicated to making a real and meaningful difference to cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland. The charity works to enhance the quality of patient care and support through its life-changing and life-saving work which includes funding additional nurses, supporting local research and providing practical support, such as financial grants, which can help patients through a difficult time. Friends of the Cancer Centre relies entirely on the generosity of the local community and all money donated stays in Northern Ireland, directly benefitting patients and their families.

If you would like to take part in the walk you can sign up online at www.friendsofthecancercentre.com or call the team on 028 9069 9393. Registration for the walk is £5 per person with children under 12 years old going free. Each participant is asked to raise as much money as they can as it will support the vital work of Friends of the Cancer Centre.
