The case of four people charged with blackmail and other charges was heard at Fermanagh Magistrates Court as the court was given an update on the progression of the case against them.

Paul Arthur Maye (55) of Sallys Wood, Irvinestown faces charges of blackmail, threats to kill, transferring criminal property, possessing criminal property and encouraging or assisting offences believing they would be carried out.

Rosaleen Maye (52) of the same address, Christopher Francis McGovern (41), of Trasna Way, Lisnaskea, and Sandra Morrison with an address of Main Street, Lisnaskea are all charged with blackmail, transferring criminal property, possessing criminal property and encouraging or assisting offences believing they would be carried out.

The charges relate to incidents which took place between September 27, 2017 and January 4, 2019.

A representative from the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) told the court that a full file had been requested.

There were a number of outstanding matters that were to completed.

A number of phones seized as part of the investigation still needed to be triaged but one evidential phone report had been received.

Interview tapes had been received and were in the process of being transcribed.

One evidential phone report had been received while CCTV had also been received and is in for editing.

The PPS representative said there was quite a bit to work through.

District Judge Mark McGarrity adjourned the case until June 3 when he said he expected the work to be completed and if not a timeframe for the completion of work to be available.
