Teaming up with Fermanagh Film Club, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council are offering a series of children’s films throughout the month of June.

These Sunday Shows at Enniskillen Castle will start at 2pm. From dragons and magical nannies to superheroes saving the word, the films will entertain and inspire in the unique environment of the Castle’s Barrack Store. Booking is recommended to guarantee spaces. Tickets can be booked via castle@fermanaghomagh.com or by phoning +44 (0)28 66325000.

Kicking off the series is ‘How to Train your Dragon’ which will be shown this Sunday June 2 at 2pm.

It tells the tale of a hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons but becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself and learns that there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.

‘Shorts for Wee Ones’ will be shown on Sunday June 9 at 2pm and will feature a collection of short films from around the world. There’s a penguin whose attempts to serve drinks at a birthday party lead to utter chaos, a mystery fish who will only swim at the surface of the sea, and a little girl who insists on moving in to live with the animals at the zoo. These magical tales (in English or dialogue free) will delight children from ages three plus and are a colourful introduction to the cinema experience.

On Sunday June 16 ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ will be shown at 2pm.

Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns. A now grown-up Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt). Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda), she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.

‘The Big Bad Fox & other Tales’ will be shown on Sunday June 23 at 2pm. The countryside isn’t always as calm and peaceful as it’s made out to be, and the animals on this farm are particularly agitated: a fox who mothers a family of chicks, a rabbit who plays the stork, and a duck who wants to be Santa Claus.

The final film in the series is ‘The Incredibles 2’ which will be shown on Sunday June 30 at 2pm.

The Incredibles hero family takes on a new mission, which involves a change in family roles: Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) must manage the house while his wife Helen (Elastigirl) goes out to save the world.
