FIREFIGHTERS rushed to Winchester prison this morning after reports of a fire breaking out in a cell.
Crews from Winchester, Eastleigh and Redbridge were called to scene, in Romsey Road, at around 8.30am.
A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service described the fire and "small" and said it had been extinguished on arrival.
Firefighters carried out an inspection of the cell before leaving around 15 minutes later.
