Despite the heavy rain, hundreds of people flocked to the home of Lord and Lady Hamilton in Tamlaght for an Open Garden Afternoon in aid of Home Start Lakeland.

In addition to perusing the beautiful gardens, visitors were treated to tea, coffee and cream scones and live music. Children had a chance to take part in a treasure hunt around the garden and pond dipping. There were also delicious cakes and beautiful plants for sale.

Home Start Lakeland are delighted to announce that the event raised over £4,000 which will help them continue to support families in Fermanagh. They also express their appreciation to Lord and Lady Hamilton for being so kind in opening up their garden. A great team of helpers contributed behind the scenes, including those who baked scones for the refreshments, cakes for the stall, donated plants, helped in the kitchen, on the stalls, with the pond dipping, stewards and live music provided by Jamie Johnston and Paddy Mulligan.

Home Start Lakeland extend their thanks to all those who volunteered on the day and also to the team of runners who participated in the 10k in Enniskillen last Saturday in aid of the charity.

Home Start Lakeland support families with young children in Fermanagh through a volunteer home visiting service. The volunteer visits the family in their own home once a week, offering practical and emotional support and activities with children.
