The blue riband event at Clogher Valley Show last week was won by the Matchett Family from Portadown with their Charolais heifer.
The judge was Victor Chestnutt who as well as being a cattle and sheep breeder is also Deputy President of the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU.).
Clogher Valley Show also hosted the British Charolais Youth National Stock Judging Final, the first time it has been held in Northern Ireland.
Youth sections from across the UK qualified in three age groups with over 60 young people taking part at the final in the Clogher Valley. There were two competitions, for individuals and teams. Competitors were asked to judge three classes of pedigree cattle and learn from the master judge and coaches in the craft of stock judging.
