It was another jam packed and fun filled week at the 72nd Belcoo Festival. It started on Saturday, August 10 with a children’s fishing competition which was won by Patrick Boylan with Holly Kearns, Thomas Murphy and Daniel Wisinski coming second, third and fourth respectively.

On Sunday some lucky punter was £1,000 better off at the bingo in the marquee while the annual Car Treasure Hunt brought participants all over the local area in an attempt to answer the clues provided in the quickest time possible. Monday saw a Water Adventure Day take place at Corralea and this was followed by a Kids Movie Night, the popular skittles competition and table quiz. On Tuesday, large crowds gathered at the Cottage Meadow for the Family Fun Colour Run which saw participants take on the obstacle course which was enjoyed by all ages.

A children’s tractor run around the Cottage Meadow was the highlight of Wednesday night as the young ones took their own John Deere and Massey Ferguson on a spin around the Meadow.

Earlier in the day, Dylan Quinn got children moving and grooving with a disco boogie in the marquee.

Thursday saw the Sports Day being held in the village.

The day kicked off with the parade and fancy dress while there was plenty to see and do throughout the day. Races for children, a dog show, a pet farm got the crowds involved while the amusements kept the children entertained throughout the day while Paddy and Kathleen followed by Tommy Owens provided the musical entertainment.

On the final night of the festival, Friday, August 16, after the duck race on the river which was won by Emma Keaney, The Rockhill Ramblers took over the marquee to bring the curtain down on what was another hugely successful festival.
