This week is National Spa Week and to mark the occasion we have five of the best spas in and around Bolton for you.

Everyone loves to be pampered a little bit; a chance to get away from the stresses and strains of daily life or perhaps to enjoy a couple of treatments to leave you looking - a feeling great.

This is not a definitive list. We are blessed in having a fine number of excellent establishments on our doorstep. This is merely a selection of some of our favourites.

Village Spa, Last Drop Village, Bromley Cross

The wide range of facilities and treatments on offer will find approval with the most discerning spa lover.

There are two saunas, a steam room and even an Aroma Grotto to help sooth away the stresses of modern life.

Different spa days are available and, as part of the Last Drop Hotel, you can take advantage of one of the four different restaurants and bars on site. With 135 bedrooms and suites available you might choose to have a complete getaway.

Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club

The Spa of Senses, set within the grounds of the hotel is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a wide range of treatments.

A number of different packages are available for those looking to pamper themselves including mums to be and even for the man in your life.

If you are feeling indulgent you can combine your spa treatments with afternoon tea or take advantage of the hotel’s signature restaurant the Grill on the Park or the lively sports bar, Tempo.

The hotel also boasts a pool, gym and even an 18-hole golf course situated on its 200 acres.

Spa Hotel, Ribby Hall Village

A little bit more out of the way than some of the other spas featured, but many Bolton spa lovers make the journey.

A wide range of spa days are available for you to pamper yourself.

Features include the Rasul Mud Chamber and you can also enjoy fine dining.

Bolholt Country Park Hotel, Bury

The spa at this Best Western hotel, situated in the Stables leisure complex has two dedicated treatment rooms offering a wide range of treatments.

There are also steam rooms and saunas, two swimming pools and an extensive gym.

The Lakeview restaurant has both full a la carte and table d’hote menus and as its name implies, overlooks one of the lakes set within the 50 acres of grounds giving you a great opportunity to leave your cares behind.

Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel, Blackrod

Boasting an indoor heated swimming pool, the health club at the hotel is an ideal place to relax. You can take advantage of the poolside pine-wood sauna and Jacuzzi. Natural Balance offers a range of holistic and complimentary therapies and treatments available for both men and women
