An occupant of a house in Fivemiletown returned home to find a male intruder burgling their property. When disturbed, the suspect ran away. Detectives are appealing for witnesses following this incident which is one of a series of burglaries at homes in Fermanagh yesterday, Monday, December 2. Two other burglaries occurred in areas of Enniskillen.
Detective Inspector Trevor Stevenson said: “It was reported to police at 7.35pm that a short time earlier, the occupant of a house in the Willand Crescent area of Fivemiletown returned home to find a male intruder in their property.
“When disturbed the suspect, who had forced entry to the house, ran off. At this stage it is unclear what items had been taken from the property.
"I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area last night around 7pm and saw any suspicious activity, or who saw a male acting suspiciously to call us.
“At around 6.50pm, it was reported that sometime between 5pm and 6.40pm, entry had been gained to a house in the Windmill Heights area of Enniskillen. It is believed a number of items of jewellery were taken.
“We also received a report at 7pm that sometime between 1pm and 7pm, entry had been gained to a house in the Coleshill Road area of Enniskillen. The occupant returned to the property to find it had been ransacked, it is believed that a sum of cash had been taken.
“Meanwhile, we received a further report at around 9pm, that sometime between 8am and 8.40pm, entry had been gained to a house in the Windmill Heights area of Enniskillen.
“It is believed a small amount of cash had been taken from the property.
“Anyone with information about these crimes, including anyone who may have noticed any suspicious vehicles in these areas last night, or in recent days, to call detectives in Omagh on 101."
