As part of the Food for Life Get Together, Year 7 pupils in Ballinamallard Primary School and the Senior citizens of the Friday Club in Ballinamallard enjoyed an early traditional Christmas lunch, table top games and a sing-a-long together.
The project, funded by Linking Generations Northern Ireland, The Lottery Community Fund, Food for Life Get Togethers, the Public Health Agency and the Big Lunch provided a unique opportunity for two generations to come together to learn about each other’s views. Whilst the children developed their communication skills, the older generation learned the skills of playing ‘Pass the Pigs’ and rekindled their enjoyment of dominoes. All those who attended the lunch in Ballinamallard Primary School agreed that it was a perfect way to spend an afternoon ahead of Christmas.
