During this academic year of 2019/2020, Lisbellaw Primary School has appointed both a new principal and vice principal for the school.

The new principal, Jason Kilfedder, took over the position from former principal Ingrid Logan in September 2019.

Commenting that in his new role he sees it as an “honour and privilege” to be able to lead an “enthusiastic and dedicated staff”.

Mr. Kilfedder added: “Lisbellaw Primary School is very much child-centred with all decisions made reflecting the needs and aspirations of all of our children.”

“I’d like to thank the staff, pupils, parents and Board of Governors for giving me their support and encouragement throughout term one,” he said, adding: “I’d particularly like to thank the previous principal, Mrs. Ingrid Logan, who has been, and continues to be, a direct contact whenever words of advice are needed.”

Prior to taking on the role of principal, Mr. Kilfedder was vice principal and Year Seven teacher at the school for the previous two years.

“Before that I taught in the Enniskillen Model Primary School for 14 years, having graduated from Stranmillis University College Belfast in 2002,” shared Mr. Kilfedder.

Highlighting how it is a “challenging time for education”, Mr. Kilfedder further stated: “Budget allocations are forever diminishing however my aim is to maintain the already high standards that exist in Lisbellaw Primary School to ensure the highest standard of teaching and learning, to utilise effectively the skills and knowledge of all the staff and to continue to build on the well-established links with parents and the wider community.”

Starting the new term this week, the Lisbellaw Primary School welcomed new vice principal Sarah Auterson to the school community.

Having grown up in Fermanagh before attending Stranmillis University College Belfast, from where she graduated in 2011, Mrs. Auterson went on to teach at Newtownbutler Primary School before spending the last seven years teaching Year 6/7 at Lack Primary School.

Taking on the role of vice principal at Lisbellaw Primary School, Mrs. Auterson commented that she is looking forward to her new role working as part of a “committed and enthusiastic staff”.
