From next Monday (January 13) cashless car parking at the 13 off-street pay and display car parks operated by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will be provided by JustPark.

Cashless parking offers an alternative way for motorists to pay for their car parking at Council operated off-street pay and display car parks, other than using coins at the pay and display machines.

At present, cashless car parking at Fermanagh and Omagh District Council operated off-street pay and display car parks is provided by Parkmobile.

The Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie said: “Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to promoting cashless parking as it offers convenience and peace of mind as it doesn't run out like a conventional ticket enabling users to shop at their leisure. By absorbing the 8p transaction fee, the Council is encouraging shoppers to the towns by ensuring that users pay only for the normal parking tariff. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is the only Council which currently absorbs the transaction fee.”

To use JustPark, motorists will need to register their vehicle and method of payment details at justpark.com or by downloading the JustPark app. Once registered, you can pay for and manage your parking using your mobile phone, mobile app or online.

There is no need to estimate your parking time, as you control when you start and stop your parking. There is also no need to show a pay and display ticket on your vehicle, as traffic attendants can check if parking has been paid using cashless parking.

The 8p booking fee for each JustPark parking session will be absorbed by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, allowing customers to access the cashless parking service at no additional cost. Normal parking tariffs thereafter apply.

Information on how the service operates will be available on pay and display machines at each of the Council’s 13 pay and display car parks.

JustPark is responsible for the administration of cashless parking in all pay and display off-street and on-street charged car parking locations operated by the Department for Infrastructure and local Councils.

Parking meters installed in Council-operated pay and display car parks will continue to accept coins.
