The annual meeting of Trillick and District YFC has taken place with John Armstrong, Club Leader, welcoming Club mentor, George Irvine from Kesh YFC to conduct the election of officers.

Secretary, Judith McKinley reported on the year's activities and Treasurer, Shannen Vance presented a satisfactory financial report.

The following officials were elected for the 2020/2021 season; Club Leader - Colin McKinley; Assistant Club Leader - Jamie McCutcheon; Secretary - John Armstrong;Assistant Secretary, Timothy Keys;

Treasurer - Shannen Vance; Assistant Treasurer - Charlie Henderson; PRO - Thomas Vance; Assistant PRO - Kimi Chamber.s

John Armstrong also currently serves as Tyrone County Chairman, Jake Cunningham as Assistant County Chairman and Judith McKinley as County Treasurer.

Trillick members have had an eventful year with successes at County and NI level, opportunities for travel and training through the YFCU, many social evenings out and even some romance! Congratulations to Faith Menary and Jack Campbell, and Julie Graham and Dean Darragh who were engaged in 2019.

However club members were saddened by the death in January of their senior vice-president, Mr J S Henderson.

The Club held its 55th anniversary dinner and dance in the Woodhill Hunting Lodge and had a wide variety of Club meetings.

There were many successes at county level with the Club awarded the 2019 Tyrone Superclub title and at the annual Tyrone Efficiency Awards John Armstrong was judged third in club leader, Judith McKinley the best Secretary and Tyrone Senior Member of the year, Shannen Vance came second in the Treasurer competition and Jack Henderson second as PRO.

At the YFCU AGM Judith was judged runner-up in the best Secretary competition in Northern Ireland.

There were successes in the dairy stockjudging competition as well as the beef stockjudging and Pairs of Lambs competition as well as public speaking and YFCU Home Management.

In celebration of the 90th anniversary of the YFCU, the Choir Competition was held at Stormont. The Trillick choir, conducted by Rebecca Mulligan and accompanied by Graham Johnston sang two pieces 'Do- Rae -Mi' and 'Shut Up and Dance' and received good feedback from the distinguished judges.

Judith McKinley gained the ‘Best senior Actress’ award at the Tyrone Rosebowl competition and she and John Armstrong gained YFCU Acting awards.

Shannen Vance, escorted by Stephen Clements, spent an exciting weekend in Tipperary representing Tyrone at the Miss Macra Competition. Jake Cunningham was a member of the team representing the YFCU at the European Rally in Cirencester, England. Jake also hosted the4 club exchange Paju from Finland.

At the YFCU Tag Rugby competition the Trillick team were awarded the Fair Play award!

In the area Floral Art heats Shannen Vance was placed first and will compete in the final at Balmoral show, Judith McKinley was second and William Graham third.

At Balmoral Show the Girls team played in the final of the football competition, the boys competed in the Novice Tug of War Competition and Judith was a member of a combined Ladies Tug of War Team.

On February 28, the Club is holding a Quiz and the annual Friends and Supporters Night will be held in April - both events to be held in in the Club Hall. Members are also looking forward to the YFCU Celebration of their 90th Anniversary in the Titanic Centre on March 21.
