The exact number of positive Covid-19 cases in the Fermanagh and Omagh area was revealed for the first time today as the Public Health Authority released figures across all 11 council areas with the number of deaths across Northern Ireland increasing from seven to 10 in the space of the last 24 hours.
15 people have tested positive in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Area, although the real number of those infected will be much higher as at present only those who require hospital admission and certain key health workers are getting tested for the virus. These figures are almost twice as many as our two neighbouring councils, Derry City and Strabane and Mid Ulster, who both have eight confirmed cases.
Six Council areas have more positive tests than Fermanagh and Omagh with Belfast City Council having 75 positive cases. Neighbouring Lisburn and Castlereagh Council areas has 33 positive tests. Meanwhile at the other end of the spectrum Causeway Coast and Glens had five cases confirmed.
The total number of tests carried out in Northern Ireland stands at 3475 with 241 positive tests.
