Fermanagh man, Seamus McCaffrey, is the new Chairman of AgriSearch, the farmer-funded research and innovation organisaiton.

Seamus, from Irvinestown, who is well known as an accountant, based in Omagh and is a regularly columnist in the farming pages of The Impartial Reporter, takes over from John Henning, who continues to serve on the board as senior vice Chairman.

Seamus specialises in taxation in the agricultural sector for clients across Ireland and has wide experience of corporate governance.

He is a board member of South West College which has campuses in Enniskillen, Omagh, Dungannon and Cookstown and he is a team leader for Business in the Community in Northern Ireland.

At a challenging time for agriculture, Seamus will now lead the AgriSearch board work on the future strategic direction of the organisation at a pivotal time.

The new Vice-Chairman, Peter Morrow is also a well known figure in agri-food in Northern Ireland, having founded his marketing communications business in 1985, Morrow Communications.

From a dairy farming background in Co. Down, Peter worked in TV before founding Morrow Communications which offers a range of creative services to leading agri-food brands and clients in the public and private sectors.
