The Health Minister, Robin Swann, announced today that Enniskillen would be the location for the fourth regional test centre for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, and will open later this week.

These test centres are to carry out tests on those outside of those who work in the Health and Social Care system, and outside of those who are admitted to hospital.

Up to this point the three test centres were located in Belfast, Londonderry and Craigavon and had meant a journey time of well over an hour for people from Fermanagh to get tested for Covid-19.

Meanwhile the Department of Health has reported no new deaths today. Figures released yesterday showed eight deaths across the province, but none have been reported today by the Department.

Positive tests in the Fermanagh and Omagh area has not increased and remains at 80. The number of deaths also remains at 16 in the district area.

The total number of people who have tested positive from Covid-19 and died is 516 according to the Department. The real figure is believed to be over 700 when deaths without a positive test is taken into consideration.
