High levels of rainfall overnight have caused flooding in areas of County Fermanagh causing some travel disruption this morning (June 29).

The A35 Pettigo Road (the main road between Kesh and the border with Donegal) was closed due to flooding but has since reopened and is currently passable with care.

The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for rain for Western parts of Northern Ireland which includes Fermanagh, valid from 6am Sunday, June 28 to 3pm Monday, June 29.

A spokesman for the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) stated: "Rain is likely to become heavy and persistent in places, and may lead to some disruption."

Bus and train services may be affected with journey times taking longer and road users are to expect spray and flooding on roads.

Flooding of a few homes and businesses are likely as well as some interruption to power supplies and other services, the DfI spokesman stated.
