Police are investigating reports of shoplifting incidents from two shops in the Mill Street area of Irvinestown on the afternoon of Thursday, June 25.
A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated: “After monitoring CCTV footage it was noticed that a number of items had been removed from both shops by a boy who was accompanied by a woman described as being aged in her 20’s, of slim build with blonde hair and was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit.”
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers at Enniskillen on 101 quoting reference number 943 26/06/20. You can also submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/,” the PSNI spokesman concluded.
SDLP Councillor for Erne North John Coyle commented on the shoplifting incidents: “A number of shops in the town were being targeted. Businesses are struggling enough as it is without these opportunist shoplifters making the staff and the businesses’ work lives even worse.”
“I speak to the police usually once a week, I will be making it clear that it needs to be stopped as soon as possible,” Councillor Coyle added.
