This year's Twelfth of July was very different from any other year as traditional celebrations were scaled back due to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent regulations from the government.

Instead of the annual District parade, which was cancelled by the Orange Order during lockdown, across Fermanagh bands marched in localised parades and various socially distanced events took place to mark the Twelfth of July today (July 13).

The celebrations began at 10am in Enniskillen, as the Enniskillen Fusiliers Flute Band paraded through the town and laid a wreath at the cenotaph.

Florencecourt LOL unveiled a new arch for the village and Florencecourt Flute Band played a set of tunes in the car park to entertain some of the Brethren who had turned up.

In Ballinamallard residents came out to listen to Ballinamallard Silver Band, who played on the village green. Observing social distancing guidance, Ballinamallard Accordion Band paraded through the village as some residents enjoyed the music from their doorsteps.

This afternoon, Enniskillen District LOL and the County Grand Master Paul Stevenson held a drive-in service for Brethren at the mart in Enniskillen. Brethren in attendance watched on from the safety of their cars.

In the Fivemiletown District, a traditional Twelfth of July parade was replaced with a tractor parade. Starting at an Orange Hall on the outskirts of Augher, the tractors travelled through the village of Augher, continuing through Clogher and finishing in Fivemiletown. Tractors were decorated in Orange regalia and the Brethren driving them wore their collarettes.
